Built in 1889 this is a snap I took earlier this month in Paris, France. I tried to get an alternative to the "tourist" style photographs of this huge structure. I think that the black and white helps the image, although I did think about bringing the colour back on the Paris 2012 logo. Maybe not though. My dad (a professional photographer) thought that I should have digitally inserted a fake sky, but this is how it was on the day, and I think that the blank white sky only inhances the raw power and sharpness of the final image.
i definitely think the white sky empowers it more, but i do think it would look better if you brought back the color on the logo. All in all, spiffy shot.

lover, now that you've left me, I'm glad you're unlovely.
Thank you very much for the great comment, I like using this type of angle on this type of thing, when people photograph this subject everyday it is nice to have captured something a little differently.

Thank you, I was just lucky to get the right weather on the day I surpose...I just tried bringing the colour back to the logo in Photoshop and although it makes the logo stand out a lot it does detract a lot of attention away from the structure itself, which the focal point as apposed to the logo.

I like it! However, I disagree with the guy above. Making the logo color would have added a cheezy-photoshop feel. Sometimes less is more. Definatly in this case. Awesome work!
I need to know something, do I crop more of the top or add more to the right of the image before entry into a photographic competition because it doesnt balance the image in its current state...do you agree or what?!
